Executive summary
Expressions of Interest for experienced domestic and international MMC operators to partner with the New South Wales (NSW) Government to establish or expand an Advanced Manufacturing Facility in NSW.
Under the Modern Methods of Construction Industry Expansion Program (MMCIEP or Program) the NSW Government is looking to partner with industry to support one or more Respondents with one or more of the following: • Establish an Advanced Manufacturing Facility (AMF) in NSW, Australia. • Scale up an existing AMF or MMC process in NSW. • Support existing traditional build industry participants to incorporate, or transition to, the use of advanced manufacturing techniques that will facilitate the adoption of MMC across the NSW construction industry. • Otherwise participate in the Program in a way that supports the Program Objectives. The Program will support the residential construction sector seeking to: • Scale-up manufacturing and prefabrication capabilities in NSW. • Automate key elements of the construction process. • Embrace sustainable construction methods. • Reduce build times. • Progressively reduce built form unit cost. • Improve product quality, reducing defects in built form. • Strengthen NSW’s construction and manufacturing resilience. • Expand NSW’s advanced manufacturing capacity.
